Our Rose St character house renovation was all about making the home more livable for a growing family. The original kitchen was small and had many points of entry, significantly limiting the ability to make it larger. We flipped the existing kitchen and dining room and removed the dividing wall to create a much larger open concept kitchen and dining area. The new location of the kitchen also gives great site-lines to the living room and dining room; making it perfect to keep an eye on the family.
In the living room, we added in a gas fireplace and built in bookshelves to create a much more cozy and inviting space. We retained the beautiful original stained glass windows in this room to keep the character of the house intact as this was important to the clients.
We added in a much needed powder room to make the main floor even more livable. We took a dramatic approach to this room to make the powder room a show stopper for the guests who will be using it.
On the top floor, we reconfigured the bathroom to have an oversized soaking tub/shower and a generous sized vanity. We took a classic but fun approach to this room by having a bright blue vanity with fully tiled walls. We added some extra bathroom storage with a full height pull out unit behind the door.
We took Rose St and gave it back the character and details it deserved and turned it into a functional and beautiful family home.
