This North Vancouver modern family home renovation was a full-service interior design project focused on enhancing both functionality and livability for a busy family of five. Our scope included interior renovation design, space planning, full home furnishing, lighting selection, and decorative styling, resulting in a home that is as practical as it is beautifully layered.
The living room renovation was centered around the existing fireplace, which was re-surfaced to create a softer, more refined look that blends seamlessly into the overall design. A custom stone surround and integrated television create a clean architectural focal point while maintaining warmth and approachability. Furnishings were carefully selected to maximize seating and suit the larger scale of the home, while remaining durable and family-friendly for everyday life with children.
Throughout the home, all new light fixtures were selected to create a cohesive, unified design story, elevating each space while maintaining consistency from room to room. Warm metals, soft ambient lighting, and thoughtfully layered fixtures contribute to the home's timeless and inviting atmosphere.
The open-concept living and dining areas were furnished with a balance of comfort, durability, and visual softness. Tailored upholstery, performance fabrics, and generous seating ensure the spaces function beautifully for family living, casual gatherings, and entertaining alike.

Walk-In Pantry – Conversion from Unused Spice Kitchen
A former, underutilized spice kitchen was completely reimagined into a highly functional walk-in pantry, designed specifically to support busy family life and daily routines like kids’ lunches and meal prep. Improving both flow and storage was a key priority in this transformation.
The new custom pantry design features full-height cabinetry, durable stone countertops, and generous drawer storage for dry goods, snacks, and small appliances. This once-unused space is now a convenient, organized hub for everyday family activity, making mornings smoother and entertaining easier.
By converting the spice kitchen into a modern walk-in pantry, we created a space that enhances efficiency, reduces clutter in the main kitchen, and supports the rhythm of a growing family.
Laundry Room Renovation – Designed for Family Function
The laundry room was redesigned to better serve family life, transitioning to a side-by-side washer and dryer layout with an integrated countertop workspace. This updated configuration allows for easy folding, sorting, and laundry organization—streamlining daily routines for a household with children.
Custom cabinetry and durable materials ensure the room is both hardworking and visually cohesive with the rest of the home, transforming a purely functional space into one that supports comfort, order, and efficiency.
Decor & Styling
The final decor and styling phase focused on layering sculptural accessories, curated art, and soft textiles to bring warmth and personality to every space. Each decorative element was selected to complement the architectural updates and the home’s calm, modern palette—adding character without sacrificing functionality.
