The early 1900’s heritage home East Star had most of its original details stripped away from years of renovations. The concept for this renovation was to bring back the heritage elements and create a classic and timeless design which honoured the original intent of the home. Missing details such as crown moulding, paneling, leaded glass cabinets, cased openings, finials, shiplap ceilings and a transom window were added to help achieve that.

Medium toned floors, light cabinets and aging finishes like unlacquered brass helped give the new design of the home a timeless heritage feel.  Playing off the heritage windows the star detail was added in the glass kitchen cabinets to tie the new and old together.

Poorly functioning spaces from the previous renovation were rethought to create a better  layout and use of space. Some of these changes were to revert back to how the original layout would have been.
